McFadzean
in Racism
Shocker!
29/05/07
A female
friend of
mine made the
mistake of
visiting the
Brodick Bar
with some
pals. One of
the girls is
married to an
Indian
gentleman.
This girl
gave her name
so that they
could be
called when
their table
was ready. On
hearing the
Indian
surname,
McFadzean
enquired
"where did
you find him?
Buy him on
the
Internet"?
Some
Genuine
quotes off
the Interweb...
"The Brodick
Bar used to
be our
favourite
place to eat,
but after a
couple of
recent
visits, the
attitude of
members of
staff has
changed our
minds".
"no loss,
I used to
drink in
there very
occasionally
when i worked
on arran and
he is a bit
of an arse
anyway, he
threw me and
my pal out
for daring to
have
different
views to his
! tosser !"
"have been
on arran for
almost two
years and
have never
set foot in
the place,the
guy has a
reputation
for being an
absolute
w****r and
charging way
over the odds
for
substandard
grub"
"If you
want good
food, good
service and a
friendly
atmosphere,
go somewhere
else. The
food is
adequate but
overpriced,
the service
slow and
sullen and
the brightly
lit bar
lacking in
atmosphere.
What really
stands out,
though, is
the attitude
of the owner.
He is the
rudest, most
obnoxious
publican I
have ever
encountered.
We were too
stunned at
our own
treatment to
really
protest - we
just left -
but our B&B
landlady (who
was
delightful)
confirmed
that our
experience
was far from
unique. She
actually
apologised to
us on behalf
of the island
of Arran.
Arran is a
fantastic
place and, by
and large,
the visitor
can expect
friendly
service and
friendly
people. Just
not at the
Brodick Bar."
"The
Brodick Bar
is not the
dining
experience I
had
anticipated
of an Island
restaurant. I
used to work
in the
restaurant
industry and
understand
the true hard
labour that
it entails.
The service
was awful and
the food was
poorly
presented
bland,
tasteless and
over priced.
The owner was
obnoxious
vulgar had
obviously
trained under
Seinfeld's
soup nazi
throwing out
3 non locals
from the bar
area for
daring to
enjoy a
private joke.
There are far
better
dinning
experience to
be had in
Arran where
you are made
to feel
welcome".
"Have been
told by,
island
residents and
visitors
alike,
Brodick Bar
offers
reasonably
good food.
However
strongly
advised to go
elsewhere as
the owner is
an
exceptionally
nasty
character who
does not
deserve
business.
Give Brodick
Bar a miss
was the
advice from
several
people".
